Megan Sartor is a partner with Sax LLP and has over thirteen years’ experience in public accounting. Presently, she is the partner-in-charge of the firms Valuation, Forensic and Litigation Group.
Megan is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in New Jersey. She received both her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and her Master of Science degree in Accounting from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
Megan has taken part in many business valuations and is accredited by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) in the area of business valuation (ABV). Her work in litigation support includes matrimonial matters, fraud cases, shareholder disputes and forensic accounting, among others. She is certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) by the AICPA and has been trained in the area of Collaborative Law, an alternative dispute resolution model to resolve conflict during a divorce. She has also completed 40 hours of mediation training in family law cases.
Megan has testified and qualified as an expert in New Jersey Superior Court in Bergen, Essex and Somerset Counties as well as in Supreme Court of the State of New York County of Orange. Megan has been court appointed in New Jersey Superior Court in Essex and Somerset Counties.
Megan is a member of the AICPA and a graduate of their CPA Ambassador Program, where she has been trained to speak to media and other external parties on behalf of the accounting profession. Megan has served on the AICPA Women’s Initiatives Executive Committee Champions Task Force, where she supported the executive committee with her writing and presentation skills. Megan is also an active member of the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJCPA) where she has past served on the Board of Trustees and the leader of the association’s Business Valuation, Forensics and Litigation Support Interest group. Megan is on the board of and actively participates in the Collaborative Divorce Association of North Jersey.
In 2022, Megan was a Forty Under 40 Honoree from NJBIZ. In 2020, Megan was the recipient of the NJCPA Ovation Award in the Woman to Watch category. In 2016, Megan was the recipient of 40 Under 40 recognition by the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts (NACVA). Megan has a has been published on numerous occasions in NJ CPA Magazine as well as in Sax’s Focus newsletter. Megan is active in the development and success of Sax’s women’s initiative group P.O.W.E.R. (Professional Organization of Women for Empowerment and Results) whose mission is to empower women and collectively redefine their role in the business environment.
