Coglianese (“Alex”) is an experienced advocate specializing in matrimonial litigation and all facets of Family Law including marital dissolution proceedings, non-dissolution proceedings, child custody disputes, child support recalculations, formation of pre-nuptial agreements and all aspects of pre and post-judgment matters, respectively.  Alex is known for her zealous advocacy, but perhaps most importantly, for her devotion to her clients.

 Ms. Coglianese graduated Magna Cum Laude from Rutgers University – Rutgers College, with her Bachelors in History and Political Science and a Certificate in Criminal Justice.  During her collegiate tenure, Ms. Coglianese received several scholarships for her academic excellence and is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa National Honor Society.  Following the completion of her undergraduate studies, Ms. Coglianese worked for several prestigious New Jersey law firms where she affirmed her commitment to the practice of Family Law.

 In addition to being an active member of her law school class, serving as a teaching assistant and member of the Moot Court Board, Ms. Coglianese served as a judicial extern for United States Chief Magistrate Judge Maria-Elena James in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, as well as in the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office.    Upon graduation from law school, Ms. Coglianese served as a judicial law clerk to The Honorable John E. Selser, J.S.C., in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Passaic County, Family Division.  During her clerkship, Ms. Coglianese was trained, and certified, as a mediator in both Small Claims and Landlord/Tenant matters.

 Ms. Coglianese is admitted to practice in the State of New Jersey, as well as in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.

 Ms. Coglianese is an active member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, Bergen County Bar Association, Barry Croland Family Inns of Court, and the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts.  Ms. Coglianese serves as a member of the Passaic County Early Settlement Panel, and actively volunteers her time lecturing on a variety of family law related topics in both the continuing legal education arena, as well as for local community-based events.

 Ms. Coglianese is passionate about giving back not only to the legal community, but in her personal life as well. Ms. Coglianese is a Licensed Social Worker, having graduated, Summa Cum Laude, with her Masters Degree in Social Work, with a Concentration in Children and Families, from Fordham University – Lincoln Center.  Ms. Coglianese currently serves as the New Jersey Chapter Coordinator for the Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) Foundation, and serves as the Co-Chairwoman for the Central Jersey Walk for PKD. In addition to her work with the PKD Foundation, Ms. Coglianese volunteers her time with the New Jersey Sharing Network, raising awareness about the importance of organ and tissue donation, as well as for the York Street Project, a center for homeless and economically disadvantaged women and children in Jersey City.
